Survey Reminder, Late Surveys, and What's Shipping Next Week

Hi there detectives of the extraordinary,

This is a quick pledge manager update and reminder:

Locking Surveys This Monday!

All completed surveys will lock and cards will be charged this coming Monday, April 24th, 2023. For all those who pledged for VIGILANTE + CORE SET, COMPLETE, or CREATOR in the US, UK, EU, or Canada, you must complete your survey by this Monday to have your existing City of Mist items shipped next week.

Late Surveys Can Be Completed by May 8th

Following backers request, we're adding another late date for survey completion.  If you don't complete your survey by this Monday, please do so by Monday, May 8th, 2023. We will then have a final fulfillment round for existing PDFs and pledge levels with existing City of Mist items in the US, UK, EU, and Canada. 

What Will Go Out Next Week

•  Digital Districts: Completed surveys of all pledge levels will receive the PDFs for the existing versions of the Districts, including La Colonia, The Undertrash, Independence, Tourist Trap, Sunken City, and Fortune Row.
•  Digital CoM Items: Completed surveys of existing City of Mist items, digital or physical, will receive PDFs of the existing City of Mist items they pledged for, where available (dice and some cards don't have PDFs).
•  Physical CoM Items: Completed surveys of VIGILANTE + CORE SET, COMPLETE, or CREATOR in the US, UK, EU, or Canada will have their existing CoM items shipped to them next week. Make sure your address is accurate and complete on your survey.

Pledge manager opens in the next few days! Late pledges begin!

Hey there mythical caped-guardians of your neighborhoods!

In the three weeks that have passed since the end of the campaign, we have been working on putting together the first step of fulfillment - completing the surveys and sending out the existing City of Mist products.

BackerKit surveys open in the next few days!

Our pledge manager - BackerKit - will open in the next few days. You will receive an email inviting you to fill out a short survey (questions such as if and how you want your name to appear in the books) and to manage your pledge. You'll be able to upgrade your pledge level or add add-ons to your order, and provide us with your shipping address.

Shipping fees (and taxes such as VAT, where applicable) will also be charged in the pledge manager, as explained in the Kickstarter campaign page.

Final Date For Completing Surveys - April 24th!

The BackerKit Surveys will lock on April 24th, and credit cards will be charged on that day for shipping, taxes, and any additional add-ons you may pick up.

We will send a reminder update about that as we approach the date.

Published City of Mist items will ship soon!

After April 24th, we'll send all City of Mist digital materials to backers that have backed at pledge levels that contain them, or who have added City of Mist add-ons to their pledge that contain a digital file. 

If you backed for the VIGILANTE + CORE, COMPLETE, or CREATOR pledge levels and you are based in the US, UK, EU (except for Cyprus and Malta), or Canada, make sure to fill in the BackerKit survey on time! We can only guarantee early delivery if you complete your survey by April 24th. If so, we'll be shipping your City of Mist items soon after that, so you may be able to already start playing the game as early as end of this month or early next month!

If you have not backed at these pledge levels, but still wish to receive your already published City of Mist items ahead of time, you can opt to pay for extra shipping to have us ship those to you ASAP. Get in touch with us either on Kickstarter messages or at [email protected], and we'll add that to you pledge.

Late pledges begin!

We will also be offering late pledges via the pre-order store on BackerKit, so if you or any of your friends missed the Kickstarter campaign, this is your chance to back the Local Legends campaign! Everything that was available on the Kickstarter will be available for a limited time on the BackerKit store.

What an ending! 9th District Unlocked!

Thank you, backers!

Another campaign ends and another installment in the City of Mist universe will be created, thanks to you all! We are grateful for the incredible City of Mist community and so excited to return to the City's streets with everything that has been unlocked in this campaign. We're even more excited to announce we have unlocked the final stretch goal: a 9th district will be added to the book!

Following the popular vote of the first 48hrs of the campaign, the 9th district will be no other than Happyville, the conspiracy-ridden suburbia, which was the runner up in that vote!

What's Next

If everything runs smoothly with Kickstarter, we will unlock the backer survey AKA pledge manager on BackerKit on the first week of April 2023 and complete surveys by the third week of April 2023. We'll then charge for shipping and any applicable taxes, and ship all of the existing City of Mist items in print and PDF by end of April 2023.

We have a lot of work to get to with the Local Legends book and Vigilante Slipcase. Our writing team will begin work immediately, as our production and editing teams complete other projects and make themselves available for this project when writing is complete later this year. Art is, as you've seen, already underway. Great things are coming!

New Stretch Goals Revealed - and Smashed!

You've done it again! And again! And again! Since we've unlocked the $160K stretch goal, adding four small-time villain operations to the Local Legends book, two more stretch goals were smashed: extra cute and deadly Familiar Dangers, and an added Guide to the City in the voice of one of your favorite characters from the City of Mist universe!

We also revealed that if we reach $200K, we will add a 9th district to the book, complete with its own case, pregen, mini-map, and all!

Partnership With Alchemy RPG

We've also just announced our partnership with Alchemy RPG, the immersive Virtual Tabletop. While Alchemy graciously allows us to do so, all backers of City of Mist will get free keys to own all the items they own on Alchemy! This means anything you purchase in this Kickstarter that has a an Alchemy counterpart is automatically included.

 Better Shipping Prices for AU and NZ

As promised, we've updated the shipping estimates to Australia and New-Zealand for longtime City of Mist fans who want to get either the Local Legends book or the Vigilante Slipcase. Shipping to these countries is now estimated at $25 and $45 respectively.  Unfortunately, we are unable to improve pricing for pledges including existing City of Mist items whether built into the pledge or as add-ons.

This campaign will end at midnight EST tonight (Thursday)! We'll be hanging out at the City of Mist Discord to answer questions and discuss all things City of Mist starting at 10pm EST. Getting Ready for the Big Finale!

In one week we'll be wrapping up the Kickstarter, and get started with creating this new installment in the City of Mist universe! In a few days, in preparation for the dramatic final 48 hours, we will roll out the stretch goals up to $200K! We know there is at least one stretch goal there you'll be VERY excited to see!

CHINATOWN RIFT OPTIONS - CHOOSE AND VOTE IN THE MAIN PAGE COMMENTS!

•  Kent Leong (Justice Bao, symbol of honesty and uprightness) – a corrupt and opportunistic immigration lawyer (read: human trafficker) who rediscovers his duty to help the marginalized after awakening to the Mythos of the legendary Chinese magistrate. Torn between his past and his present, he seeks the crew's help in undoing the wrongs he has committed.
•  I-Yun (Conjuration/Familiar created by the Queen Mother of the West) – a benevolent groundskeeper of the Immortality Peaches orchard, I-Yun appears as a woman or a spotted deer that guards the fruits of longevity, allowing only the righteous access to the garden. Their pure gaze is stronger than any blade and can compel enemies to fall on their own swords. Can the crew overcome this divine guardian to access the Peaches?
•  Dahlia Zhuang (Daji, fox spirit) – A hard-working and little-appreciated Chinatown councilwoman and defender of the district, Dahlia secretly captures trickster fox spirits and harnesses their power to create good fortune for the district, using a network of shrines. But now her controversial practices are coming under scrutiny from Rift vigilantes, and her deep-rooted fox cult is all but flushed out. Will the crew trust her and help her hide her well-intending operation?
•  Frederic "Sandy" Chen (Sha Wujing, sand ogre from Journey to the West) – a hulking brute, this debt collector and bounty hunter has a penchant for ensnaring his quarry in quicksand and saving keepsakes in the form of the organs of the debtors and fugitives he catches. Despite his line of work and cruel tendencies, he's outwardly known for being extremely polite and well-mannered.
